Olive Oil Gifts for Christmas: Our Hawke's Bay Gift Guide
Good olive oil is a gift people actually use. It gets opened, it gets cooked with, and it doesn't end up in the back of a cupboard next to last year's candle.
Here's how we'd put an Aquiferra gift together this Christmas. Every oil starts with extra virgin olive oil. Most of it comes from our own grove in the Ngatarawa triangle, and we bottle it ourselves in small batches.

For the everyday cook: Premium Blend, 1 litre
Our everyday oil. A mild to medium blend of Picual, Leccino and Frantoio with a gentle peppery finish. The 1 litre bottle is $65, and it's the one people come back for because they go through it fast.
For the serious foodie: Koroneiki
A single-varietal oil made only from Koroneiki olives. Grassy and peppery, with a hint of banana. Drizzle Koroneiki over a finished steak, a bowl of soup or a plate of rocket.
For the dessert lover: Lemon & Fennel
It's great on fish and salads. But the best use came from one of our customers: drizzle Lemon & Fennel over vanilla ice cream and add a pinch of flaky salt. It tastes like salted caramel. It's now a regular dessert in our house.
For the barbecue: Lime & Thai Chilli
Zesty with a gentle kick. Use Lime & Thai Chilli as a marinade for chicken, prawns or tofu, or splash it through a stir-fry.
